Sweden

Stockholm
is an interesting place to walk around, set on a series of
islands. On the left here is the Swedish parliament building, on
the right is a bridge to the island containing the historic part of
town.

I arrived in the late afternoon
but managed a quick look inside the Nobel museum (past prize winners,
and a temporary exhibit of Winston Churchill's paintings).

Looking
over to another of Stockholm's islands, which has roller coasters and
wooded areas.

Another
channel, another island.

Sunset

I
went to an evolution conference in Uppsala - some talks were held in
this large ornate auditorium.

A
conference excursion brought me to the summer house of the biologist
Linnaeus. I liked the multicolor lichen-covered roof, and the
grassy roof on the right.

From
the country house, our group walked along wooded areas and then farm
fields with large hay bales.
