Sweden

Stockholm is an interesting place to walk around, set on a series of islands.  On the left here is the Swedish parliament building, on the right is a bridge to the island containing the historic part of town.

I arrived in the late afternoon but managed a quick look inside the Nobel museum (past prize winners, and a temporary exhibit of Winston Churchill's paintings).

Looking over to another of Stockholm's islands, which has roller coasters and wooded areas.

Another channel, another island.

Sunset over Stockholm with kayakers in the water.

I went to an evolution conference in Uppsala - some talks were held in this large ornate auditorium.

A conference excursion brought me to the summer house of the biologist Linnaeus.  I liked the multicolor lichen-covered roof, and the grassy roof on the right.

From the country house, our group walked along wooded areas and then farm fields with large hay bales.
