Way back in early October (when sunlight still came to
Copenhagen), we took a walk along the southern end of Amager.
Here a cormorant dries its wings, with the bridge to Sweden behind it.
Music is one good way to get through the dark days - the
legendary Skatalites came right to our neighborhood.
Video - The Skatalites perform "Simmer Down". Singer, sax player at far
left, and drummer were in the band 45 years ago.
And just five days later we heard Angélique
Kidjo (a singer from Benin, West Africa) perform.
Continuing the performance theme - here's
Amanda as a very scary witch in an opera version of Hansel and Gretel.
Today, on Amanda's 29th birthday, I surprised her by
getting out a carrot cake while she went to get laundry.
Earlier today we caught some rare sunshine while walking
through the tropical canopy at the top of the palm house at the
botanical gardens.
We also strolled through the pleasant orchid house.
A glorious mid-afternoon sunset. Our time in Denmark
grows shorter with the days.
