The sun rises over East Hill as we begin our ride from Ithaca.
We heard and then saw a pileated woodpecker as we climbed along the
west side of the lake.
After a bone-dry summer, the lower falls at Taughannock were barely
visible.
Old foundations at Sheldrake Point.
Lillypads and other aquatic plants near the north end of the lake.
The ironically named "Goose Haven", where hunters unable to find a
Canada Goose by their own cunning can apparently find some assistance.
We went a few miles past the north end of the lake, to Montezuma National
Wildlife Refuge. Here's one heron...

... another posed gracefully...
... and one more standing tall.
A place where Canada Geese can enjoy a safe paddle.
Lake view as we ride down the east side. My left knee gave me
some trouble on the return trip, but we still made it.
The sun had set, but we had just enough light to guide us back to our
starting point.
